DIPDIPDIP ICE CREAM PRINT by MIKE DAVIS
In September 2019, renowned Austin TX-based chef and restaurateur Tatsu Aikawa opened up DipDipDip, an ice cream shop focusing on daring combinations of Japanese-inspired flavors like black pepper yuzu, caramel chocolate shiitake mushroom, and miso peanut butter and jelly. He hired our own Mike Davis to design a mural made up of brightly-colored characters celebrating ice cream, funky ingredients, fruits, and Japanese and Austin icons. The shop has been a runaway success and we pitched the idea of an art print based on the characters. We're excited to finally get to share this one with you!
This is a SIXTEEN color art print... far and away the most number of ink colors ever featured in one of Mike's prints (his previous record was 6 or 7) and it's super bright and super fun! And yes, that's Vanilla Ice with melted ice cream all over his face.
